How’s my Sugar doing today?
There is my sweetie….
Sugar in various forms has been used as a term of endearment for a very long time. This type of sugar is harmless and we could all use more“sweet talk” in our lives. However, most Americans consume on an average 3 lbs of sugar per day. Sugar is hidden in frozen meals, pre- packed foods and even flavored waters that have been enhanced with fruit “essence” for a better taste. An abundance of sugar consumption can lead to problems with yeast, fungus, and an increased acidity in the body. A highly acidic body is a breeding ground for diseases such as arthritis and cancer. Adjusting your consumption of sugar may actually be life changing.
Reading labels will help you find hidden sugars and plan your shopping accordingly. I used to consume 16 ozs of soda and a sugary rasberry filled donut a few times a week, prior to becoming actively involved in my own rescue. When I began to read labels, I discovered that I was consuming 7 tablesoons of sugar each time I had these sweet treats. There's no wonder my butt and thighs enjoyed a mighty jiggle each time I moved!
Here are the steps to release your sugar addiction:
* Admit your addiction and make a conscious decision to take action
*Conduct a 10 day cleanse to detoxify your colon, liver and kidneys. This is recommended as your body will require a lot of energy to eliminate sugar and toxins
*Eliminate all added and refined sugars, (natural sugars that occur in fruits and vegetables are ok). Stop consumption of cookies, candy, pastries, cakes, processed foods and anything that contains high fructose corn syrup.
*The effects of the detox can result in decreased food intake, decreased food
craving and more energy!
